Tough away fixture

Playing away against a side of Villarreal’s quality was always going to be tough going. But this was made even tougher, when Villarreal netted the first goal. A Sublet pass by the Brazillian Alexandre Pato, which was squeezed past macherano.

An upset was on the cards. As Barcelona kept missing chances to equalize. Especially Neymar has found it particularly challenging as he is yet to see the back of the net since October. This has been his worst run of form since joining Barcelona. At the other end Suarez has been equally inconsistent, not managing to score as frequently as he is capable of. With the score threateningly poised at 89th Minute. Villarreal made an unforgiving sin of conceding a free kick against a guy of Messi’s Caliber.
