What is DRS?
It is a Umpire Decision Review System . It is a technology based system used in cricket. DRS was launched by ICC in 2008. It was first implemented in India vs Sri Lanka test match in 2008. However it was officially launched in 24 November 2009 in a test match between New Zealand and Pakistan. It wasn’t until January 2011, DRS was used in ODI cricket in England tour of Australia.
How does the system work?
In test one team gets up to two Unsuccessful reviews per 80 overs.
In ODI, it is one review per inning.
Now o days DRS have made a major impact in cricket.
