Nepal look to bounce back after heartbreaking defeat against the host

Nepal has started their campaign in a losing fashion. They were agonizingly defeated by Sri Lanka by a single run. Although it was a disappointing start for the rhinos, but they will look to forget this loss and take it as a motivation to improve. Nepal will face their bitter rivals India in a must win game. If Nepal have any aspiration of advancing deeper into this tournament, it is essential for them to come achieve a victory.

Lets not forget, they were excellent throughout the game. There were a lot of positives to take from the game against the host. They were able to restrict the lions for just 228. Airee was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets despite conceding 43 runs in 8 overs.

From their batting point of view

Nepal had a shocker of a start, losing 2 wickets for just 5 runs. This pegged Nepal back and put them in their back foot. But some rebuilding from Karn and Airee meant they were able to steady the ship. They managed to add 84 runs together for the 6th wicket. However after the wicket of Karn, Nepal started to tumble again. Nepal required 8 runs of last over with just one wicket remaining. Airee managed to hit second ball of last over for a huge six. Despite his best efforts he wasn’t able to take them over the line. Denying taking a singles, he was out lbw in the second last ball while trying to go for a big hit.

 India Vs Malaysia

On the other match, India was playing against Malaysia, which they comprehensively won by 235 runs. India won the toss and elected to bat first. Three of the Indian batsmen managed to score 50. Malaysia was bowled out for just 54 in 22.3 overs. India’s Nagarkoti took 4 wickets in 7 overs conceding just 12 runs.

If Nepal is to next round they cant afford in slip-ups and will have to be at their very best.

India look solid in both batting and bowling. They are the favourite to win the tournament.
